1.How long have you been CrossFitting?
My first WOD was in 2008, then I dabbled at home for a few years before I joined a box full time in 2015.

4. How did you hear about CrossFit Strong?
From other people at my first box in Dallas I heard that Strong was pretty competitive
and then I did my CFL1 at Strong.
5. How have you seen yourself change – mentally or physically – since being a
part of CFS?
I’ve seen so many changes since being at Strong! I was pregnant and then postpartum, so those are some pretty big physical changes, and now in the last 6 months or so (since I’ve been able to focus on fitness again) I’ve definitely been putting on muscle and seeing more muscle definition. Mentally, I’m definitely more resilient.
6. What is your favorite move?
Anything gymnastic-y and strongman.
7. What is your least favorite move?
That freaking devil bike

Fran (This is a hard question to answer too!)
10. What are some of your goals that you have for yourself in the next year?
More skill acquisition! In 2020, I’ve already gotten my DUs (FINALLY!) and bar muscle-ups and I want to keep that on a roll. Hopefully, ring muscle-ups, deficit HSPU and handstand walks.
11. How do you see CrossFit as different from other programs?
CrossFit is different because it has a holistic approach to fitness and health. I feel in love with the fact that CrossFit as an organization places health at the center of things (and makes nutrition the foundation of that health, a big selling point for a dietitian) I have stayed with CrossFit because I love the variety and there is always some new challenge to work on. Once you leave school (high school/college) it’s hard to find structured fitness pursuits that push you to get better at physical challenges; it can sort of feel like once you are out of your early 20s it’s all down-hill physically, but that doesn’t have to be the case, and CrossFit provides a safe, challenging, and fun environment within which to keep getting better even as you get older. I’m PRing skills and weights now that I wouldn’t have dreamed of in my 20s!
12. Did you think a sport of elite fitness would ever be for you?
Nope. Even though I did high school sports and competed in dance, I had really bad
asthma as a kid, so I never really thought of myself as an athlete and certainly not someone who would be able to do “elite fitness.”
13. How can other people relate to your story
Because I’m not trying to be the best, I’m just trying to challenge myself to get a little
better every day. I don’t have anything special when it comes to CrossFit. Anybody can do this. It’s a long game and with some consistent effort overtime anyone can accomplish their goals.
14. What is the dumbest thing you have heard at CFS?
“I love Fran”
15. What is the funniest thing you have seen done at CFS?
Jeff trying to teach Michele to use the scissor lift.
16. What is your most memorable moment here?
All of the support I got when I finally got my first big set of DU and my first bar MU; and
also all of the love I got working out with Aidy and watching her lift with Michele.
